Biology Research Project Outline

394 words | 2 page(s)

Introduction / Abstract: I wish to research how microbes affect the environment. Microbes play a huge part of our lives and they are everywhere we go. There are some good microbes and there are some bad microbes. I’d like to understand the overall impact that microbes have on the environment and if microbes in fact determine the features of the environment. I’d also like to understand how microbes affect living organisms within an environment, more particularly humans. Humans have found many uses for microbes, and I believe that we are only on the cusp of finding out something great.

Body Paragraphs:
Body Paragraph 1: Write about how microbes were found. Give a brief history of microbes and who the main players were in finding out about them. It’s important to lay a good groundwork for microbes because many people are no familiar with their mere existence nor their function. Just allow the reader to understand the basics of microbes and their history in the science field.

Body Paragraph 2: Now write about how microbes impact the environment. Do they shape the features of the environment? Do different types of microbes exist in different types of environments? Are microbes helping the environment more than hurting the environment? These are some of the questions that should be answered here.

Body Paragraph 3: Write about who microbes affect humans and their role in our daily lives. Also add some brief insights in how microbes are helping scientists understand human behavior in terms of healthy versus unhealthy food selection and weight loss.

Conclusion Paragraph: Reassess microbes’ role in society and try and anchor all the recent content into one paragraph. Should be brief and to the point so that the audience does not lose interest in this subject. Also answer the question: what is the future of microbes and what are we trying to do with them now?
