The Christian concept of the imago dei represents the perception and depiction of God in the society. This is a unique image that God creates among the believers in the society which is exclusive to his abilities. One of the essential association between God and human beings is that they are perceived to be a special creation that has superior abilities when compared to other creatures. The nature and image of God is critical to the creation of the value that exists among Christians and the definition of the purpose of these creatures in the universe. Therefore, the image of God is an elemental entity towards determining the status and progression of various factors and occurrences that happen to human beings in the society (Calvin, 2009). As an important structural basis for the Christians, the image of God is a good foundation in which faith, tolerance and forgiveness are created.

The image of God presents a unique approach to health care. This is because it determines the healing process among the believers that have a special view of the image of God. The believers of the image of God have believe that they are created in the likeliness and identity of the image of God and thus there is an urgent need to embrace God’s Image in daily activities (Erickson, 2012). God is perceived to be the ultimate healer and giver of comfort in various perspective sin the society through the integration of both mental and physical wholeness. Having faith in the healing power of God among the believers is also important towards dictating the recovery process. Having a spiritual alignment towards the image of God is also perceived to be an important protective strategy that prevents any illnesses among the followers and believers of the image of God. Therefore, the image of God is important in the creation of a healing hospital because of the aspect of spirituality.
