The vSphere Data Protection Advanced is a piece of backup software offered by VMware. The software is capable of backing up agent-less, image-level backups for virtual machines. The product also offers agent-based, guest-level backups for Microsoft-compatible programs existing on either physical or virtual machines (vSphere, 2014). The vSphere Data Protection Advanced is suited for efficient off-site data backups. (vSphere, 2014). The vSphere Data Protection Advanced is set up for automatic data backups to a set virtual system, and promises fast and reliable data recovery in the event that the original data is lost. (vSphere, 2014).

Capable of backing up both physical and virtualized data, the vSphere Data Protection Advanced is compatible with Microsoft Exchange, SQL Server, and Sharepoint (vSphere, 2014). The program is capable of detecting redundant data before initiating a backup, thereby bringing down the amount of time required for a backup to take place (vSphere, 2014). The program automatically verifies completed and successful backups in order to detect problems before data is lost from the original (vSphere, 2014).

The product can be ordered in CD form, or online. There is also a free trial available which can be downloaded immediately off of the website free of charge (vSphere, 2014). Purchasing the vSphere Data Protection Advanced, however, is not a one-time deal. The product must be renewed in increments of one to three years, or else it is disabled. In order to make it work the investment, a subscription to the product comes with 24-hour technical support (vSphere, 2014). This technical support is available either on weekdays or seven day a week, with a slight price difference coming with the weekend support (vSphere, 2014). The cheapest and simplest offer is $1,325 for one year of access to the vSphere Data Protection Advanced and 24-hour technical support only on weekdays (vSphere, 2014). Weekend support can be added for an extra $44 a year (vSphere, 2014). The most expensive option available is three years of access to both the product and the week-round technical support, which amounts to $1,818.36. The same day with only weekday support costs $1,702.20 (vSphere, 2014).

Citrix is a company specializing in networking, data sharing, virtualization, and utilizing the mobile network. Citrix helps other companies to utilize their cloud spaces by allowing different types of devices to access the mobile networks and allowing for efficient passage of online information from servers and virtual servers to devices (Citrix, 2014). The Citrix Workspace Suite gives workers cloud access so that they can seamlessly access the same regardless of which device they are using (Citrix, 2014). Citrix is unique in that it does not require the usage of third party products in order to make the network sufficiently useable (Citrix, 2014).

Cisco is a company specializing in file sharing. Using its products, workers are able to select which files they wish to be made available to their coworkers, and also send codes to coworkers so that they have access to certain other files (Cisco, 2014). In order to remove their coworkers” access, workers are able to change the access code at any time, thereby requiring others to request a code. Workers are also able to change the file-sharing settings for a file at any time, making it available for others to access or not access on the cloud at any time (Cisco, 2014). Files being used are saved on a virtual server so that everyone can access or modify them (Cisco, 2014).

EMC is a company offering a variety of servers, some of which contain a significant amount of storage. The Flash line of products is designed for a high speed of access and of recording data onto the server (EMC, 2014). EMC servers are built for continuous access and durability (EMC, 2014).
