Social
In the social context, I would suggest that the parents and children be involved in
i) Volunteer at mental health clinics and spend time with people struggling with mental health problems. They would help by having conversations with them so that they can get a glimpse of their experiences.
ii) Select a few homes of full time stay at home mothers and give them a break by doing all their chores.
iii) Buy necessary used or new books and donate them to children or schools that cannot afford the books. They would report on the results by having getting a filled in report from the mental facility visited, the stay at home mothers, and the school or children that receive the donated books. The lesson theme I would attach this to would be to get more emotionally unvested and versatile in helping people.

Economic
One task that a family can do with their children is to get involved actively in preparing the evening meal and cleaning up after the meal. The lesson I would tie to this activity is domestic responsibility.

Cultural
Food is closely tied with culture.
i) They could prepare a traditional meal and share it with neighbors in honor of their culture.
ii) The family can share interesting folklore about their culture with their peers.
iii) They may share outstanding parts of their history among themselves and with others. The lesson theme that I would tie to this activity is cultural pride.

Varying Abilities
One activity that parents would do with their children that would raise awareness of disabilities is to make time to spend with people that live with disabilities either in a social or medical setting. The theme that would be tied to this activity is acceptance.

Political Factors
Two government community programs that families can volunteer for with their child are federal domestic assistance and rural development opportunities. The results for this activity would be to fill out a log that checks off the activities undertaken in either program for either activity. The lesson for this activity would be political awareness.

Random travel
The parent would take a trip to a destination that neither the parents nor the children have been to using a map. They have the option of going deep into the woods, for a mountain climb, or other strenuous activity. They would report the results by providing the trail that they took on a map and pictures to confirm the trip. The theme would be outdoor learning.
