The health care industry is very dynamic. This is attributed to the changing needs of the health care consumers in the society. In order to keep pace with the changing needs of the society in relation with the health status, the structural and cultural alignments of the health facilities are subjected to massive changes. These changes ensure that the facilities and the experts satisfy the needs and expectations of the patients (Randolf, 2009). The changes have also been adopted in the industry in order to enhance both patient and consumer safety. In the last ten years nemerous changes have occurred in the industry and there are numerous changes expected in the coming years.

In the last ten years, healthcare has received numerous changes. The most common changes include the introduction of information systems in healthcare. There are systems within the industry that have evolved from the use of manual systems to the use of information systems (RWJF, 2013). The adoption of informatics into the industry has influenced the operation of processes in the industry. One of the most common areas of concern is the use of informatics to enhance both patient and expert through the reduction of the errors committed in health care. The information systems have also been adopted to assist in increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the health care processes (RWJF, 2013).

In the next ten years, the evolution of technology is likely to introduce sophisticated systems in the healthcare industry. Some of the technologies that may applied may include the application of complex communication technologies to enhance networking between experts and the patients (RWJF, 2013). The technology is also likely to present refined platforms along which monitoring of patients can occur without a lot of physical engagements. This will assist in improving the out-of-facility care and reduce the number of readmissions.

There is a significant number of roles that I can play in the health care industry. As a team player in the healthcare facilities, I will use my skill s and knowledge to enhance the acquisition of effective healthcare methods to enhance the safety of patients. I will use my good relational and communication skills to increase the level of collaboration with other experts through the information systems available in the organizations so as to increase the quality of health services. Through the strategic collaborations, I ensure that there is maximum sharing of information to promote educational and professional development.

In order to ensure that evolve with the changing needs in the health industry, I will embrace high level of flexibility. This can be acquired through being ready to learn and embrace any technology that comes in the industry. Having an open mind is instrumental to evolutions with the changing needs. The most practical way to acquire high levels of resilience to the changing needs is through accepting continuous educational development in order to update my skills with the new progressions in the industry. This can include participating in the regular seminars and training sessions that are carried in the industry in order to assist in apprising skills and knowledge (RWJF, 2013). This will assist in promoting continuity and consistency in the industry.

The program has influenced my perception about health care industry. There are various areas in which my attitudes have changed in relation to providing high quality health services. One of the most common areas of concern includes giving a multidimensional approach to health care service delivery. Health care service delivery does not only entail the normal medical procedures, but it is also important to consider the spiritual and cultural needs of the patients. This is one of the strategies that I have learned that has changed my perceptions towards the industry. These are some of the engagements that can be used to compliment the medical procedures and thus increase their efficiency.

Technology will be very influential in the health industry in the coming decade. Technological advancements are created with very high level of creativity and innovation. Therefore, the technologies that are likely to come into the health industry will assist in reducing the errors that are committed in the industry and increase efficiency within the industry (Randolf, 2009). The technological advancements are also likely to promote the speed of operations in the health care industry through optimizing the available resources to achieve the objectives of the organizations. Some of the areas of the health care areas that will be enhanced include the research. This is because it will assist in conducting research activities that will aid the formulation and implementation of evidence-based practices in the industry.

There are numerous financial and economic issues that are likely to affect the health care industry in future. In order for the technology to be used in the industry, it requires the adoption and use of various structures in the operation of the technology. These structures and facilities re very expensive to acquire and to install. The organizations will also incur a lot of funds in the training of the experts to have sufficient skills and knowledge to assist them operate the information systems. The use of information systems is also likely to lead to a complete integration of the payment and billing systems into the electronic platforms (Leonard, 2004). The transition may present changes that may make the organizations in the industry have economic and financial setbacks.
