Supply Chain Management (SCM) is an integrating philosophy associated with the flow and management of materials as well as information and finance. These finances often come from the supplier to the ultimate customer. The primary goal of SCM is to meet the demands of the final customer by ensuring that the product is supplied more conveniently. For Internet-based companies such as Facebook, online safety remains one of its top priorities. As such, Facebook uses online safety as a way of ensuring that its users are protected from online breaching (Turban, Whiteside, King, & Outland, 2017). This paper aims to examine how Internet-based companies can implement IT-based systems to address different requirements of business such as SCM. To support and illustrate the different types of progress involved in the evolutionary process by applying the best practices as well as analysis.

If Internet-based companies such as Facebook are embedded in the supply chain, the information obtained can be used effectively for a variety of different sources (Ross, 2016). For instance, the information gathered may be consistent with its spread rather than concentrating it on a single source. Furthermore, users are also able to generate information using social media as a tool for accessibility purposes. In turn, this ensures that the obtained information is not held or kept in secret, thus facilitating its use across the supply chain.

Furthermore, Internet-based companies can work to remove or inspect any asymmetries of information. E-collaboration involves face-to-face interaction among members of virtual teams or individuals who share a common goal towards accessing information through communication technologies. E-collaboration often plays an important role in customer differentiation and interaction. As such, more data is gathered and integrated by carrying out an analysis in large volumes on a cost-effective basis. Furthermore, companies can engage in effective Internet-based relationships with their customers.

Sustainable business model and the current position of a company, specifically of Internet-based companies, depend on their responsibility in keeping private information of its customers secure through ethical and legal means. As such, when doing business over the Internet, companies must ensure that the information of their customers is secured. Also, they should integrate specific metrics for IT effectiveness and efficiency.
