The nurses must see how the EHRs are compatible with the existing practices and values. The understanding is very essential as it will make them realize that the new systems will enhance continuity and consistency with the normal operations (Rogers, 2003). In order to impact sufficient influence on the health care experts to adopt the EHRs, it is crucial to prove on the capability of the systems by the use of evidence. The most realistic way is by showing observable results from the work of the systems (Rogers, 2003). Successful instances of the operation of the EHRs are likely to motivate the health care experts to welcome the use of the Electronic Health Records thus reducing any resistance to the new systems. The nurses should see the ability of innovations to solve existing problems within the health care industry.

Therefore, nurses are very instrumental towards reducing resistance to changes within the health care organizations. Nurses should apply their professional and ethical principles to ensure that any imitative that is likely to promote positive change in the healthcare industry is promoted (Anna & Christian, 2004). The nurses should embrace professional and educational development in order to provide a propagative environment through which quality improvement can be enhanced in the health care industry.
